21 Questions to Ask Yourself Today

1/23/2016

It's more than okay to question things a little, every once and awhile. Reassessing your reality can be helpful and even healthy. If we never really think about what we're doing or where we are going, it’s easy to just continue on the same path that may or may not be right for us, like zombies on treadmills. Asking yourself the tough questions can help uncover hidden truths in your subconscious. Desires, fears, and anything in between.
And in the event that you do find something in your Being that has been calling you to uncover it; this does not mean you have to up and leave, starting your new life on a goat farm in Costa Rica. It just means incorporating more of what you love into everyday life, even in the smallest way. Making your experience on this Earth a little more meaningful. And then taking baby steps toward a greater goal, if you see one.
Ask yourself these questions and allow the answers to come freely and naturally without judgement. You may find your extremely content with your reality and well on your way to enjoying a fulfilling life. Or you may uncover your hidden desire to start a winery. Both are equally as awesome and exciting.

  1. Think back to being a little girl or boy. What have you always wanted to do, for as long as you can remember?
  2. What is the first thing you think about when you wake up?
  3. Are you a better person than you were a year ago?
  4. What are your best qualities? How are you using them?
  5. What are you most proud of in your life?
  6. What is the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?
  7. When has fear ever stopped you from doing something?
  8. How much energy do you spend worrying about others opinions?
  9. What would you do if you didn’t worry about what others think of you? / What could you do with that energy used worrying about the thoughts of others?
  10. Do you always do what is right for you? When/why not?
  11. If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
  12. What would you do if money didn’t matter?
  13. If you could change anything about your life, what would you change?
  14. Why haven’t you?
  15. Do you do something for you (and only you) everyday?
  16. If not, what would you like to try/ start doing?
  17. What would your life look like if you did something that you love everyday?
  18. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
  19. What are some little steps, starting today, you could take that would make your life more enjoyable?
  20. What are some steps you can take in the next year?
  21. If you knew you could not fail, what would you do?

I hope these questions got the wheels in your head turning in a positive way. If nothing came up for you and the answers seemed out of touch, let these questions sit with you for the next few days. Allow yourself to be receptive and open to opportunities that you might otherwise overlook.
I will often ask myself questions like these when things get cloudy and I lose touch of my  intention. When I make a big decision, when I need a little clarity, or just need to get my shit together.
But, the beauty of questioning yourself this way is that you certainly do NOT have to know what you wanna do, where you’re going, or what your purpose is. (Where’s the fun in knowing absolutely everything?)
All you really need to know is yourself and what lights you up. This can help you get clear on what you love and what you’re really focused on. What you spend most of your energy doing/thinking/wishing about. What truly fills you with bliss.
Follow what inspires you. Not worrying too much about the how or where or why. No matter how silly or crazy it might sound, anything you are passionate about is worth investigating. Each experience will lead you to the next, and you never know where your first step might take you.

Take the baby steps to creating a bliss-filled life. Do a little bit of what you love, solely for yourself, everyday. Don’t force, but rather allow yourself to be open to opportunities that will bring you to a higher vibration of happiness. What the world needs are more inspired, passionate, and authentic people. Why not spend your only life here on Earth doing what the only you on this Earth was meant to be doing?

In light & love,
